Speaking at a press conference in Lisbon, IFA Executive Director Jens Heithecker said Berlin's yearly electronics trade show (held in September) would be a better place for Samsung to unveil the Galaxy Note 8.
He's signaling that he wants Samsung to return to the tradeshow after the company began announcing its high-profile Note phones earlier, in August, and switched locations to New York.
Between the first Galaxy Note and the Galaxy Note 4, Samsung held its announcements in Berlin, a day or two ahead of IFA.
Heithecker also said Samsung will have the biggest presentation at this year's tradeshow, although whether that's going to be the next Note or a bunch of new washing machines and smart TVs isn't clear right now.
Wherever it ends up announced, the Note 8 is shaping up as an oversized Galaxy S8 lookalike with the possibility of an under-glass fingerprint scanner and dual-camera setup. You can learn more about the successor to last year's most flammable phablet below.
